A winding earthen path through warm tropical landscape with children at different points along it — the BTFL journey

How it works

How the first six months with BTFL look.

From application, through Basecamp, into a personalised Route across the six-month expedition. Here is what to expect — step by step, month by month.

From application to visible growth.

Five steps. Each one has a clear thing you do, a clear thing that happens, and a clear thing you see.

1

Subscribe

Pay for Basecamp, complete your child's profile, and choose a Basecamp date that works for the family.

What you do

Pay for Basecamp (S$320). Complete your child's profile online. Pick a Basecamp date.

What happens

A welcome email confirms your Basecamp date, what to bring, and what the two days will cover.

What you see

Confirmation, your child's profile in the dashboard, and the Basecamp date on your calendar.

2

Basecamp

Two days outdoors with our team. Your child works with us directly. The Passport is issued.

What you do

Drop off, pick up, and let your child step into something real.

What happens

Your child works with our team across two days of structured play, with trained observation throughout.

What you see

The opening pages of your child's Passport — what we noticed, where the strongest signals are, and the Route we'd recommend for the months ahead.

What Basecamp does Basecamp is the intensive that opens every BTFL expedition. Two days of real challenge, group interaction, and observation in play — so your child experiences BTFL while we understand how to guide their Route.
3

Adventures along the Route

Each month, credits land in your account. Use them on Adventures across the curated catalogue — mix freely between Connect, Create, and Contribute.

What you do

Browse upcoming Adventures, filter by pillar or schedule, and book with credits.

What happens

Your child attends real-world Adventures with vetted providers across Singapore.

What you see

A clear booking history, upcoming dates, and credit balance — never a surprise charge.

4

Field notes

After every Adventure, a short founder note lands in the Passport — not a generic summary. Real moments, in plain language.

What you do

Open the note. Optionally have a five-minute debrief with your child.

What happens

Our team captures specific moments of engagement, where your child stretched, what to watch for next.

What you see

A short, specific entry in the Passport, mapped to the sub-pillars touched in the Adventure. A Stamp earned.

5

The Waypoint

At month six, we meet you face-to-face. We refresh the Passport, walk you through what's changed, and set the Route for the next phase.

What you do

Bring your child. Bring the Passport. Bring questions.

What happens

A structured conversation with our team comparing month six to Basecamp — what's shifted, what's still emerging, what comes next.

What you see

A refreshed Passport, a new Route, and the year-two Pioneer rate offered. See how the framework is designed →

Your child’s first month, concretely.

Three small moments that make the first weeks feel real, not abstract.

Their Passport is issued

Two days outdoors with our team. A small group, a real challenge, and trained close observation. Your child walks in unsure, walks out with a story they want to tell at dinner.

The opening pages arrive

Specific. Observational. Different from a school report. "She kept trying after the model collapsed twice. By the third attempt she was the one suggesting changes." Plus the Route we'd recommend.

Their first Stamp

Earned in the sub-pillar they practised most in their first Adventure. A small, real marker — the start of a longer record of who your child is becoming.

Membership,
plainly.

S$ 320 one-time

Our promise

Love us - or your money back.

We have worked tirelessly to make BTFL the kind of program we would want for our own children. Your child deserves the best. If we do not deliver after Basecamp, we guarantee a full refund.

Standard membership families are covered for 30 days after Basecamp Day 1.

BTFL is currently in its founding cohort phase. The first twelve children join at a discounted bundled rate. See the Pilot page →

How booking actually works.

The practical details, written plainly so there are no surprises.

  1. Credits land on the same day each month

100 new credits arrive on your membership anniversary date. Unused credits from the previous month carry over for thirty days, then expire.

  2. Book through the platform

Families book directly through the BTFL dashboard. Filter by pillar, schedule, or Route recommendation. Adventures confirm instantly — no waiting list.

  3. Adventures cap at a stated maximum

Every Adventure has a published maximum number of children, based on the format and the adult-to-child ratio set for that Adventure type. We do not exceed it under any circumstance.

  4. If an Adventure is cancelled by us

Your credits return to your balance immediately, and we offer the next equivalent Adventure at priority booking.

  5. If your child can’t attend

Let us know as soon as you can. We’ll work with you to rebook within the same membership cycle wherever possible.

Built around how families actually live.

No fixed pillar track. No one-size-fits-all schedule. The six-month Route has structure, but it still has to fit real family life.

Credits roll over for one month

A busy month does not erase the work. Unused credits stay valid into the next cycle, so the Route can flex around real family rhythms.

Mix freely across pillars

Your child is never locked to one pillar. Move between Connect, Create, and Contribute as their interest evolves — the framework holds the through-line, not the catalogue.

Pause or cancel anytime

Family life still happens. The monthly membership can be paused or cancelled anytime — no annual contract, no exit fee. Your Passport stays with you; the Route waits.

30-day standard membership promise

For standard membership families, if the first two days of your child's expedition aren't right, you receive a full refund within 30 days of Basecamp Day 1. We'd rather you walk away cleanly than continue with a program that isn't fitting.

BTFL works best as a partnership.

A great expedition needs a parent who is in on the project. The work we ask of you is light, but it matters:

  • Show up for the welcome call so we can set the journey up well.
  • Read the field notes in the Passport — they are short on purpose, and built to be read.
  • Have an occasional five-minute debrief with your child after an Adventure.
  • Tell us when something isn’t working. We would rather hear it than assume.

Things parents ask before joining.

What ages is BTFL designed for?

BTFL is built for children aged 8 to 14. Basecamp currently runs for ages 8 to 12 — the 13–14 segment is part of the broader BTFL roadmap and will open as that age band's Basecamp format is ready.

Where do Adventures take place?

We are based in Singapore across two to three location clusters, chosen so most families can reach an Adventure within a reasonable drive. Specific addresses are confirmed at booking; outdoor Adventures name the meeting point clearly in advance.

What if my child doesn't enjoy an Adventure?

Our team captures it in the field notes, and we factor it into your child's Route. Children are allowed to dislike things — that information is valuable. If an Adventure is consistently the wrong fit, we'll suggest a different format or pillar to try next.

What language are Adventures run in?

The default language for BTFL Adventures is English. Some Adventures involve providers who run in additional languages, which we note clearly in the catalogue.

Can siblings share a membership?

Each child has their own Passport, their own Adventures, and their own Route — because their growth is theirs. Membership is per-child. The second child's monthly is 10% off, after each child completes Basecamp at full price (S$320 each).

What if we need to withdraw?

For standard membership families, the first 30 days after Basecamp Day 1 are covered by the full-refund promise. After that, the monthly membership is pause-or-cancel anytime — no exit fee, no annual contract. Pilot families follow the founding terms on the Pilot page.

Can I gift a membership?

Yes. Memberships can be gifted — get in touch and we'll set it up directly with the recipient, including the Basecamp date.

Currently in the
founding cohort phase.

BTFL opens to its first twelve children — by application — at a founding rate. Once the founding cohort completes its first Waypoint, BTFL opens to all families at the standard membership described above. If you'd like to be part of the founding twelve, see the Pilot page; if you'd rather wait for the standard opening, the waitlist there will keep you informed.
