The BTFL Pilot
We're opening Best Time For Life to its first twelve children. They help us build it. We build it around them.
How it works
Your child's expedition begins at Basecamp. Two days outdoors, with our founders. On arrival, your child is issued their Passport — the document that travels with them for the rest of the journey.
Across the two days we work with each child closely. We see them in play, in challenge, in the company of others. At the end, we write the opening pages of their Passport — what we noticed, where their strongest signals are, and the Route we'd recommend for the months ahead.
Each Adventure of the journey earns a Stamp. At month six, we meet you at the first Waypoint — to look at how the Passport has filled, and where the next part of the Route should go.
This is a slow document. It's the opposite of a school report. We're not measuring your child. We're noticing them.
Why twelve
Because we want to know every child by name. Because at this stage the work is closer to apprenticeship than rollout. Because twelve is the number where we can answer the phone, hear what isn't working, and change it before the next Adventure.
We run the Pilot in two batches of six. The second batch starts a few weeks after the first, so what we learn from the first six children improves the journey for the second six.
We'll grow after this. Slowly. Deliberately. But not yet.
The exchange
The discount is the consideration for joining as a pilot family. The relationship is honest.
Paid in two instalments of S$300 — at application confirmation, and at the start of month 3. The six-month commitment holds throughout. Because the founding rate is exchanged for that commitment, Pilot places are non-refundable after confirmation.
The numbers
The Pilot bundle covers everything a standard family will pay for over their first six months — at less than a third of the price.
Standard 6-month entry
What a non-pilot family will pay for the same six months once BTFL opens publicly.
The BTFL Pilot bundle
Paid in two instalments of S$300 — at confirmation and at start of month 3. The six-month commitment holds throughout.
vs S$2,000 standard
After the Waypoint at month six, pilot families graduate to a Pioneer rate of ~S$196/month (about 30% off the standard monthly) — held as long as they stay.
Who this is for
A note on age: both Basecamp formats are designed for 8–12 year olds. The 13–14 segment is part of the BTFL audience but not part of this Pilot.
Picture it
Basecamp weekend
Your child works directly with Erika and Jochen. They walk in unsure, walk out with a story they want to tell at dinner. The opening entry of their Passport is written within a week.
Weeks 1–2
We book an Adventure together based on what we noticed at Basecamp. You see how the Route is starting to take shape.
Week 4
The first Stamp lands in the Passport. We talk. First adjustments — to your child's Route, and to ours.
What this isn't
This isn't tuition. We're not tutoring. We're not optimising for any exam.
This isn't a camp. The point is the cumulative arc, not the activity.
This is something we're building. With twelve children. For everyone after.
Best Time For Life — extraordinary, by design.
Privacy & consent
The Pilot involves children, observation, family conversations, and some photography or video. We treat those as trust matters, not admin details.
The form collects only what we need to assess fit and contact you: parent details, your child's first name and age, batch preference, and your reason for applying.
Passport notes, observations, and Route recommendations are family-facing development records. They are not public marketing material by default.
The Pilot includes photography and video capture, but public use is confirmed asset by asset before publication. The family agreement covers this before payment.
It explains how applications, consent, child information, photos, video, and withdrawal requests are handled during the Pilot.
Apply to the Pilot
Tell us a little about your child. If it looks like a fit, we'll set up a thirty-minute conversation with one of the founders. We're selecting for fit, not polish — you'll hear from us either way.
